Wabi-Sabi

Love yourself because you are the only one, Wabi-Sabi, Beauty in Imperfection, Nisha Shetty Personal Blogger

Wabi-Sabi is one of Japans traditional concept. It implies magnificence in that which is impermanent or imperfect what I understand it talk about embracing the uneven uncertainties of life and nature, that is why I call it “Beauty in Imperfection”.

Wabi-Sabi by Nisha ShettyThe words wabi and sabi is not simple to interpret. Towards fourteenth century the meanings of these words evolved, taking on progressively positive connotations:

  • wabi” is being simple, whether or not elegant or rustic.
  • sabi” signifies the magnificence of age and wear.

Wabi-Sabi encourages accepting the world as it is which may be perfect / imperfect, complete / incomplete and permanent / impermanent then going further and praising that reality helps you experience something similar to freedom. Wabi-sabi supports all that is true by recognizing three straightforward facts:

  • Nothing endures
  • Nothing is finished
  • Nothing is impeccable

I consider forsaking the idea of “impeccable” and even “adequate” overwhelmingly tempting. Wabi-Sabi to me is a thoughtful approach towards living a life. I look up to the idea of Wabi-Sabi since it acts as a perfect metaphor for the individuals that we are and for what we do. It makes us different from other as a result each one is unique but still celebrative.

“If you ask people what attracted them to the person they love, they never tell you of some perfect feature that focused them on sheer surfaces but rather an imperfection that allowed them to see into their uncharted depths”. By ~Eugene Kennedy.

So the moral of the theory is, Love yourself because you are the only one ! while continue to appreciate life and others!
